Full Application vs. Touch Up Application
Keeping Them In Longer
Eyelash extension is a great way to improve the look of your eyes and frame them for dramatic effect. Indeed, lash extensions are becoming more popular because they are easy to care for, last the life of the natural lash, and they enlarge the eyes by adding length and thickness to the eyelashes. While most eyelash extensions can last two months or more, the natural eyelashes may fall out before then. Natural lashes are on a cycle, constantly falling out and being replaced, so some of the extensions fall when the natural lash to which they are bonded takes it natural course. This means that after three weeks or so, gaps may appear in the coverage offered by the eyelash extensions. Touch ups may be wanted, even though they are not necessary. However, many people find that the most effective way to maintain the lush look of their eyelashes is to receive touch up applications after the initial application of the semi permanent eyelash extensions.
Eyelash extensions are attached to the natural lash by use of a strong adhesive. This adhesive creates a waterproof bond that holds through activities such as working out, showering, sleeping, crying, and even swimming. However, because they are directly attached to the lash, when your natural lash falls out, the extension comes with it. A full application every two to two and a half months can give you a fresh new entire set of thick lashes each time. It will look nice initially, but as the natural eyelashes fall, it can begin to look a little ragged.
Touch Ups
Touch ups can help eliminate the gaps that begin to make your lashes look a little ragged and less neat. If you go in every two or three weeks to have the gaps filled in, you can maintain your thick-lashed look indefinitely without having to pay for a full eyelash extension procedure each time. And, because you are only having a few extensions replaced each time, you will not need to make the same time commitment required for the application of a full lash extension set. The touch up provides continuity of look, and can actually be less expensive in the long run, as some salons offer touch ups for as little as $25 when you come in, while a full application can cost as much as $300.

An eyelash extension application can really help you improve your appearance and help you feel good about yourself without the use of mascara. Lash extensions do all of the same things that mascara is designed to do, but without the mess and hassle. They are easy to care for, and require very little effort to maintain. In fact, the only real maintenance you have to keep up with is making sure that you have the extensions properly applied and then reapplied as needed. If you go in for periodic touch ups before all of the extensions fall out, then it is possible to achieve optimum eyelash results at a lower cost.
